Meet Jessica Denise Grono

Welcome to the heart of my work. Discover my journey, my passion for advocacy, and how I strive to create a world where everyone belongs.

My mission: seeing ability, not disability

I am a woman of faith who believes every life has purpose. My drive stems from a deep desire to build a world where people with disabilities are valued, included, and empowered. Through my writing, teaching, and speaking, I aim to help people see ability before disability, barriers before excuses, and hope where others only see limitations. I want anyone facing adversity to find hope, courage, and a reason to keep moving forward.

I'm a mother of two and married. I'm a substitute teacher plus writer and public speaker. I am former Ms. Wheelchair Pennsylvania.  Reading and being as active as possible are my hobbies.

My journey: faith, perseverance, and advocacy

My life's path, marked by cerebral palsy, teaching, motherhood, faith, breast cancer survivorship, and dedicated disability advocacy, has shaped my core belief: every life has value, every person deserves to belong, and no obstacle is too great for God to use for good. I share my story to inspire belief in the potential within us all, and to encourage a deeper understanding of inclusion and accessibility.

Inspired to act: building a more inclusive world

After visiting this page, I hope you leave feeling encouraged, challenged, and inspired. I want you to see that disability does not define a person’s worth or potential, and that every individual has gifts to offer. If my story helps someone choose hope over fear, see ability instead of limitation, or believe in themselves a little more, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.

I also hope you take action. Whether that’s making your business more accessible, hiring someone with a disability, inviting me to speak, reading Where Is the Ramp?, encouraging someone who feels overlooked, or simply treating the next person you meet with greater kindness and respect, small actions can change lives. Above all, I hope you leave knowing that every person belongs, every life has purpose, and with faith, perseverance, and compassion, barriers can become bridges.
