20 Things About Jessica Grono You Might Not Know — 2026 Edition
By Jessica Grono
It’s always fun to learn little things about the person behind a blog. Some of my friends and family will already know many of these, but longtime readers—and especially newer ones—might be surprised by a few!
Here are 20 things you might not know about me.
- I have a hard time choosing a favorite color. I love many colors, but pink and blue are probably my favorites.
- My favorite animal to observe is the tiger. I think tigers are majestic, mysterious, beautiful, and a little unpredictable.
- I am Roman Catholic. My faith is an important part of who I am. Going to Mass on Sundays helps center me and reminds me of what matters most.
- I am pro-life. My belief comes from what I understand about science and human development. I believe every human life has value from its earliest beginning.
- I always wanted to be a mother. Even when I was young, I knew the kind of mom I hoped to become—gentle, loving, involved, and always teaching my children skills and values they could carry throughout their lives.
- Cerebral palsy still drives me crazy sometimes. CP is part of my life, but that doesn’t mean I have to love every part of it. I would love to do everyday things without having to ask someone for assistance. At the same time, I’ve learned that needing help doesn’t prevent me from living a full life.
- I love music, but not when it’s extremely loud. I especially don’t like loud music when I’m trying to write or concentrate. I enjoy singing and dancing, though!
- Working makes me happy. I love the feeling of accomplishing something and contributing to society. Staying busy gives me purpose.
- I’ve wanted to teach since I was six years old. It took me a long time to finally have the opportunities I wanted, which makes being in the classroom even more meaningful to me.
- I’ve been married twice and engaged once. Life certainly hasn’t followed a straight path, but every chapter has helped shape the person I am today.
- My first marriage was difficult. It taught me a great deal about relationships, strength, boundaries, and what I wanted my future to look like.
- I’m not a fan of loud chaos. Too much noise and commotion can overwhelm me, and sometimes I simply need a quieter space.
- I enjoy watching television with my family. For me, it’s less about sitting down to watch TV and more about spending time together, laughing, talking, and getting hooked on a show together.
- Our house is full of animals. Our dogs are Samantha and Simon, and our cats are Linus, Grant, and Goggles. They definitely keep our home interesting!
- Friendships mean a lot to me. I value the people who make an effort to stay connected, and I always wish there were more opportunities to spend time with friends.
- Summer wins over winter every time. I’m not a winter person, although I can appreciate a good snow day. Give me warm weather and sunshine!
- My iPad is one of my favorite tools. I use it for writing, blogging, organizing my life, making lists, social media, and plenty of other things.
- I love playing games—especially word and logic games. I enjoy anything that makes me think, solve a problem, recognize patterns, or figure something out.
- Negativity really bothers me. Constant complaining, putting people down, mean jokes, and criticizing someone’s appearance or weight aren’t things I enjoy being around. I would much rather look for something positive.
- I don’t understand wasting life. I’m not very good at sitting around doing nothing. Life feels too short, and there are always things I want to experience, accomplish, write, teach, or enjoy with the people I love. Rest is important when we need it, but I also want to make the most of the time I’m given.
There you have it—20 things about me!
Some things have changed since I originally wrote this list in 2020, and that’s actually one of the fun things about looking back. We grow, our families change, our interests change, and life keeps adding new chapters.
Did anything on my list surprise you? What is one thing about you that people might be surprised to learn?
